What is the panel building system?
The panel building system is a modern, composite building technology where a high-density EPS insulation core and three-dimensional steel reinforcement mesh (wire cage) manufactured millimetrically in a factory are covered with an integrated micro-concrete layer on site. It combines both load-bearing power and insulation in a single panel.
What are the thicknesses and details of the compressed styrofoam (EPS), steel, and concrete layers used in the system?
The Veloce Panel Building System consists of high-performance composite layers: 1. **High-Density Compressed Styrofoam (EPS) Core:** A continuous EPS block with a thickness of 10 cm to 14 cm (depending on customer preference and climate zone), high density (16-24 kg/m³), and fire-retardant (B1 class) properties is used in the exact center of the wall. This layer ensures excellent thermal and acoustic comfort. 2. **Steel Wire Mesh (Iron Reinforcement):** High-strength galvanized steel wire mesh (wire cage) with a diameter of 3.0 mm wraps around both faces of the EPS block. These meshes are stitched together with 33-100 steel connector wires per square meter to form a 3D steel space cage. 3. **Structural Micro-Concrete Layer:** A special micro-concrete (structural plaster) with a thickness of at least 3.5 cm to 5 cm is applied to the steel wire mesh from both sides on site using high-pressure shotcreting. Consequently, **the total wall thickness is approximately 18 cm to 24 cm**. This provides much higher structural strength and exceptional thermal/acoustic insulation compared to traditional walls.
How many cm will the columns and beams be? Is a column-less structure safe?
In Veloce Yapı projects, there are **no standalone columns and beams** that protrude into rooms, waste space, or create weak points as in traditional buildings! This is due to the **monolithic shear wall** operating principle of our system. All exterior and interior walls of the house are continuous shear walls reinforced with steel wire mesh cages. In traditional reinforced concrete buildings, seismic loads are carried only by columns at specific points, whereas in our system, seismic and wind loads are distributed equally over the entire shear wall shell. Thus, not only are **there no column protrusions in your rooms** (maximizing net usable area), but the seismic and physical resistance of the structure is also far safer and more resilient than traditional column-beam frame buildings.
How long does it take to complete the construction of a Veloce panel house?
Thanks to the dry assembly and prefabrication advantages offered by the Veloce Yapı system, our construction times are 50% to 60% shorter than traditional concrete. The process stages are as follows: - **Factory Panel Production:** Following project approval, millimetric cutting of all panels in the factory and transport to the site takes **7 - 10 days**. - **Rough Construction (Assembly and Micro-Concrete):** Erecting panels on site by hand without cranes, routing utility conduits, making steel connections, and pouring micro-concrete from both sides takes **10 - 15 days**. - **Fine Finishes and Turnkey:** Interior/exterior painting, floor coverings, ceramics, sanitary ware, doors, and roof insulation/cladding work takes **25 - 30 days**. In short, we deliver a 100 m² modern villa as **turnkey in a very short time of 35 - 45 days in total**.
How many floors does the building system allow? What is the ceiling height?
Thanks to its load-bearing capacity (structural shear walls), the Veloce panel system allows the construction of luxury residential buildings, villas, or administrative offices **up to 2 or 3 stories without needing an additional steel frame**. When integrated with structural light steel frames, the floor and height limits are completely eliminated. **Ceiling Height Details:** - Our standard clean ceiling height is designed between **2.80 m and 3.00 m**. - Loft layouts, high ceilings, or gallery spaces can easily be realized thanks to our panel flexibility.
Are the buildings earthquake resistant?
Yes, panel structures are extremely safe seismically. The composite shell formed by steel wire cage reinforcements with concrete plaster creates a flexible and high-strength structure. Also, since buildings are quite light compared to traditional reinforced concrete, the sismik forces they are exposed to during an earthquake are much lower.
